We Have Moved With the Times

Last October, in the wake of Shanghai's lockdown, we closed our store on Fumin Lu after 16 years in the same location. It was time. Now we have a much more accessible and flexible profile, with new and exciting creative options. Here's what I mean.

We now have a Studio space in the ground floor of a beautiful Art Deco lane house on Julu Lu. Here, in a cosy environment, you can come and see a selection of our vintage and contemporary design pieces. This is also our creative hub where we come up with new designs and process all of our vintage finds. We are here 7 days a week and you can drop by anytime between 10am and 7pm to see what we have, and to shop, chat, exchange ideas. You can also visit the other design studios that have now opened in our lane, or get a coffee, lunch or a drink in the welcoming places along our stretch of Julu Lu.

FIND US AT LANE 820 JULU, HOUSE 6 (between Fumin Lu and Changshu Lu)

We have a new online shop for those of you in China but outside Shanghai, or in Shanghai but you'd rather shop online or need a delivery in a hurry. We have a pretty wide selection of our vintage pieces, our own design pieces and other works produced by some of Shanghai's best contemporary designers. All available through one single mini program and we'll ship directly to you. You can also keep up-to-date with us by following our official account on WeChat. Here's the QR codes for the mini program and the official account.

And, we are expanding our audience by moving more around the city. From mid-March until the end of August we will have a pop-up store at the amazing hotel The Middle House in downtown Shanghai. A perfect, cool, designy space for us and we have teamed-up with the design group The Studio, whose home is now also in Lane 820 Julu Lu, to make the pop-up even more fun for visitors. Take a look at the video made by one of our collaborators, The Nectar Foundry to get an idea of how it looks. We're open there 7 days a week.

Finally, our online presence has expanded to include two dedicated sites where you can see more information on some of our specialised vintage Chinese design: revolutionary posters at www.mmdposters.org and mahjong sets at www.mahjongmadame.com

See you there!
