MADAME MAO'S DOWRY
Paper Tiger Shanghai
Back in 2006 Lucy Young searched Shanghai for wrapping paper that connected with the city and the city's history in a graphically pleasing way. Luckily for us, her search produced nil results so Lucy sat down at her drawing board and designed a wonderful collection of paper that riffs on the Shanghai's eclectic urban history and traditional Chinese imagery.
The paper is created and printed in Shanghai, using 100% recycled paper and soy-based ink. The paper is produced as sheets of 600mm x 870mm or 23.6ins x 34.2ins.
If that weren't satisfying enough Lucy added another goal to the mix, to make gift wrapping fun and expressive for the giver, and extra special for the receiver. So each sheet of paper has a weight that is enjoyable to cut, fold, tape and wrap with, making it ideal for enveloping gifts and for crafting. Each sheet is also reversible with two different complementing patterns or colors, at least doubling its appeal.
We stock all of Lucy's patterns of paper together with her noyecards, greetings cards, fortune cookies and gift tags.
