Nothing shouts Mao Period like an enamel mug, so we made a series of enamel .... plates or trays. We decorated them with images that began life as Mao Period propaganda and twisted them a little so they'd resonate with contemporary Shanghai. 'Defend the Motherland' became 'Defend the Stock Market' and a space explorartion craft became the Maglev train from Pudong airport. We had fun!
