Lars, the founder of Beijing Postcards, describes himself as dedicated to Chinese history. He collects, usually from overseas sources, visual interpretations of China's past be it photographs or maps or prints. These images of how China was seen historically from the outside are then reproduced by Lars sometimes as prints but also as products like cushions, bags and large format photographs.

Lars' focus is firmly on his esoteric collection of original pieces which he exhibits and regularly presents lectures on, but his reproductions allows us to be complicit in an obsession of seeing China through a different lens.
